Colorful monsters

I've made a Pokémon page. I've been trying to draw Pokémon since the first game came out, but I've found that it's really difficult. Aside from my own numerous attempts, I've seen so many clones (games) or fan designs... fall short.

Also, I made a little page for a 16 color retro palette.

So interesting to hear you deconstruct the pokemon games/concepts, it all makes so much sense! At first it made me think of this guy's pokemon designs that I remember liking, and while I still do really like some of them, you've definitely helped me think of what makes a pokemon design good and bad. Cheers!

Ah, Pokémon... I think you really solved Dratini evolution line. The jump from Dragonair to Dragonite always bugged me. Also love the idea of non-linear evolutions, like the the Weedle´s and Caterpie´s (great designs, btw). I´m aware that there are already some pokemons wich evolves on such fashion, but too bad they´re so few. I just dislike the idea of pokemons coming back and forth it´s evolutions. I dislike digimon.

Mmm. The problem with digimon type temporary evolutions is that it weakens the solidity of the attachment to your pet. You have to grow attached to this abstract thing which has a potential of appearances within a certain range.

Indeed. Also digimon evolutions are too "wide open". I played a DS digimon game which many digimons had some forms in common in their evolution threes. That´s really cheap. Makes me wonder if they didn´t had time to create enough monsters. Also adds to the feeling that digimon is just a "taiwanese" copy of Pokemon. hahaha
