Remember Robo Warrior?

Robo Warrior was one of those games which had a fun first level, but it just got monotous after that. Kind of like the first slices of blood pudding. I always wished there was something more to the game each time I returned to it. I never knew that Robo Warrior actually was titled Bomber King and took place in the Bomberman universe somehow. I also didn't know that there was an interesting sequel for the Gameboy. Too bad, I might have enjoyed that one.

Anyways, here's another of them pages: Bomber Queen

Jimminy! how long does it take you to write up, draw, and organize all that?

Arne said...

It's about a week of work, 4 days sporadic research and sporadic thumbnailing, 2 days writing, 2 days painting. Most of my projects are like that, but sometimes I revisit them (although I often scrap much of my older material then).

I love all the involvement with the town. Reminds me of Megaman Legends, one of my definitive childhood games, and how you could donate money to repair the buildings destroyed way in the beginning. It felt cool seeing the town rebuild as you went on.

Also, your art is gorgeous.

Excellent work as always, sir. : )

Thanks Arne your work is a source of constant inspiration and motivation. :)
PS. Have you ever done a zombie game design or done some zombie chibi styled art...?

Arne, please tell me: how can I be more like you?

Thanks!

Megaman Legends... I would've liked to see random dungeons and character creation in that game. The Reaverbots were the star of that show. Loved going into dungeons to see what new bots I'd encounter. Got all 3 games.

Gustave: Got a few zombie related things in the pipeline.

Bob: I doubt you'd want the whole package.

Love your work duder.
I was wondering what it is you do with all of these little projects? Also I was curious if you ever thought of throwing out an art book or something? Keep up the good work.

something I've been curious about for awhile, why are so many of your redesign protagonists female? is there some kind of design reasoning to it, or are they just way more fun to draw?

Awesome, I really love the mockups. I'd pee my pants for the rest of my life if someone hired you to design and draw the art for a wii game. Hand drawn, kind of like the new Wario game. :D

Wild guess, but I think he likes panties, austin. :3

I know this is kinda late, but I took a second look at the Bomber King 2 sprites, and the middle two bear uncanny resemblances to Samus Aran and Master Chief. Coincidence?

are you going to make this or the assets for it ? if you need a hand with code let me know

Arne said...

I noticed the masterchief / Samus resemblance too. There also seems to be some Zelda influences.

I don't think I can pursue this further since it's based on Hudson Soft's characters.

yes i guess, do they really have a massive problem with fan games ?
i love your art and want to see it moving :)
